Hi It was nice to hear from you, thank you for helping with our HOTM run, your horses are lovely. I understand about the "being a bit afraid" after an injury. I had, note I said had, a horse years ago, I got him as a 3 year old, he was so sweet. He was very big(17hh) easy to get along with, easy to ride, when he turned 5, it was like the "devil horse" I struggled, I sent him out for training, I used a coach, I found that I was always making excuses not to ride him. Then one cold September morning, he was being a goof around the hay feeder, I reached for the pony to get him out of the way of the "rough play" last thing I remember is the hoof coming up, I said "don't you dare" That was it!! 17 stitches in my forehead, serious concussion, if it had been a split second either way, I would not be talking to you now. I still didn't give up. But it was never the same, I was afraid and he knew it. I finally came to the conclusion that I really LOVED this horse, I just didn't LIKE him much, I sold him to a young lady at a large show barn(I'm alone) she had tons of support around her, I knew he would do well. 3 weeks after she bought him, he was tearing around his paddock one early frosty morning and he tore a ligament in his stifle, the prognosis was poor to hopeless, she put him down. Talk soon, Thanks again for the vote and support. Donna Lee PS thanks for the comment on Sterl's page, she is very special!!
