hello Gracie and Jenna!! wow, i just noticed now that Jenna and Sweet pea are almost the same size!

I BELIEVE...things of beauty are God's gift to me.

hello friends!! i have some exciting news!! A couple days ago, Dad bought a saddle off of eBay for only $49!! It's a Crosby, 15 1/2 inch Pony saddle. I was so thrilled and I just can't wait till it comes!!

On Saturday, I gave Kayla (9) a riding lesson on the lunge, with the Western saddle. She did really good, she walked/trotted on and off the lunge, and did some teardrop direction changes. I am so excited to start giving riding lessons!! I think I'll give Kayla some regularly, too.

Then I lunged Sweet Pea (w/o Kayla) to work on trotting calmly and slowly. She has this bad habit of trotting really fast and out of control when she's on the lunge. But the night before, I said a special prayer that she would be calm and gentle when I'm giving lessons, and God apparently answered my prayer early, because she was sooo perfect! She even cantered slowly, to. I worked her until she was trotting at the just the right speed, then I praised her.

Then Heidi (11) stood in the middle of the arena and gave me and Kayla (on Acorn) commands: walk, trot, jog, canter, halt, change directions, etc. Sweet Pea went from a soft jog, to a relaxed, collected canter, and she hardly ever does that!! Usually she takes an extra big stride or a hop, then settles down. I just cantered along with my mouth hanging open. :~)

On Sunday I took her for a pretty long ride (with Western saddle) after working her in the arena on her slow trot. We had to outrace a thunderstorm and rain, which was pretty freaky!! But we got home safely.

I love you all, and I hope you have a GR8 day!!

HUGS & PRAYERS
