Monday's Visit 08-20-12 So my Sister came to visit me and we had a good day together. She brushed me first and told me what a handsome guy I am... she didn't have to tell me that, I already know! The cute pony next door named "Buttercup" always tries to rub noses and nicker softly at me. Sister tacked me up, and then we worked on a few things. We are working on backing up, standing still and "whoa." Here's what I think of these three things... standing still is no problem for me because I don't mind unless a fly is bugging me... hahaha! I made a joke! Get it....? "bugging me?" I can nap and relax when we are standing still. Backing up is another story... I know how to back, but I just don't like it. When Sister asks me to back I try to resist her as long as I can, but you know what? She is nearly as stubborn as I am. She waits me out, even when I stomp my front hooves and paw. So.. finally I give in, and take a step or two backward. She says that's all she wants is a step or two... So when I do it, she pats and rubs my neck and tells me I'm a good boy and she loves me lots. So, I guess giving in isn't too bad... now "whoa-ing" is a drag. When I want to go, go, go, Sister wants me to "whoa". I know how to do this too. Sometimes I throw my head a tiny bit to show her I'm displeased with this, but she talks firm to me and keeps telling me "whoa"! I feel it in the bit and reins, in her legs and I hear it in her voice. She means it. So, I "whoa" and stand still. I guess I better behave myself, or I wont get the best part of all... my rubdown and brushing and my yummy treats. Sister gives me treats for being good and doing what she asks me to do. Hmmmm... I guess being good does have it's perks! (wink, wink) Talk with ya later! (yawn) Time for a snooze! |
