Wooohoooo!! Congratulations to Paula & PF October HOTM!!

I see Erin beat me to the newsletter today:) Love ya Erin!
I thought it would be fun to add a blog to the newsletter from each of the Nov. candidates. I'll leave this one from Maria & Dakota today and another one from Laura & Tex tomorrow.

I had wanted a pony since I was very young. My parents told me that I didnt know how to handle a pony, but I thought that since I knew how to make a horse stop,go and turn that I knew everything that I needed to know. Boy did I ever have a lot to learn! The very first time I rode Dakota, he took of running with me and I learned pretty fast that he didnt stop when you pull back on the reins. Throughout the next year I got bucked off many times and once I had to have stitches on my nose( of course it didnt help any that my parents knew nothing about horses and couldnt help me out with him). But once I started learning how to control him and communicate with him, things started getting much better, and riding started to be enjoyable instead of a battle of wills. Now he has not bucked me off in over two years and he is safe for little kids to ride.Even though we had a pretty rocky start, he taught me a lot and he is my best friend. I now have two other horses, and though I love them all equally, Dakota is really special to me because he was my very first horse.
