Hi Victoria & goats
Well, it looks worse than it is. He got an infection that traveled up his hoof. The wall had to be cut away to expose the infection and clean it out. His shoe is holding his foot together and basically we have to keep it clean and dry, it will just grow out. It takes about 9 month to a year to grow a hoof out completely. So, he will wear shoes all winter and hopefully by spring it will be looking good. I am still riding him, he is not lame at all. Talk soon, Donna Lee
