sorry for the long blog but it's worth the read :)

good morning,
i first off just want send my heart out to maria and her horse scout who had to be put down :( i know she loved him soooo much and only got to spend alittle time with him, but im sure no doubt that she cherrished every minute of it <3 Rest In Peace

i FINALLY go to ride yesterday. it was a pretty good lesson but it could've been better. but hey, that's why you have lessons right?! to learn from them :) jess (my trainer) had me pick up a right lead canter to a striped red vertical(9th photo below), then i would turn just slightly to the right from there and do a diagonal to a white cross rail. then as soon as i landed from that x-rail i had to ask for a left lead change and then take a left turn and go back to another vertical which was wooden (shown in the first and second photo below is the x-rail and then the left turn to the wooden vert)). it was all fine until the lead change/left turn. you see, when ziggy is cantering and he knows where the next jump is and you ask for a slight change of direction to get to it......he suddenly becomes a grand prix jumper on a grand prix course with tight roll backs that'll almost throw you out of the saddle. He has, as we call it, power steering and sensative breaks hahah. let's just say that he kept trying to throw his lead change (which is SUPER powerful and hard to sit) while trying to do a roll back, even though i was only asking him to gradually turn to the left. so here he is launching me out of the saddle while throwing his lead change and by the time i come back down from his lead change he's already throwing a roll back in there hahah, i almost fell every time until FINALLY i did lol and we got it on camera! but i was fine and i landed on my knees, i'll have to upload the video so keep an eye out for it. but i'll also upload another of how it was supposed to be. that was my 8th fall in 11 months, but hey, i now know how to fall properly now and i've learned from my mistakes. there's that quote that says,"in order to ride, one must learn to fall" haha! anyways here's a vote and i hope all is well.

love,
sierra and the herd
