Scout got colic last Saturday and early Sunday morning we called the vet to put him down. On sunday night we had the vet out and she tried getting some fluids in him through a tube down his nose but he wouldn't keep it down. She said that he might not make it through the night but if he was up and drinking in the morning he might be ok. I went out to check on him at 4:00 on sunday morning and he was laying on the ground, still alive but in a lot of pain. So I woke up my dad and told him to call the vet and while I waited for her to get here I sat by Scout in the snow and told him goodbye. It is such a sad thing to put a horse down. I didn't have Scout for very long but I loved him a lot. I am considering getting another horse maybe sometime in the summer. Left a vote for Flyer.
