Hi Fancy, here's a vote for ya. Yes more hay in the winter, hay will keep a horse warm body temp wise. Cause it furments in the hind gut and produces warmth in the body. I cut the grain somewhat to keep the non workers from becoming fat and also from colicking due to lack of work. I also now use a slow feed hay bag for Indy's midday lunch of 2 flakes of hay. 2 if really cold, 1 if normal temps. Temps warmed up a little today, but snow, sleet and freezing rain moving in for tomorrow. Went down to see Paige workout, she's just getting more consistant every day. About two more weeks and I'll be riding again. It's a long 6 weeks!
Ribs are really starting to feel normal. I was even lifting and moving stuff today. Love ya, Marion and the blondies.
