I wish you lived closer, too :) Maybe I'll try to take a video of her in the snaffle/Western saddle at w/t/c and email it to you or upload it here. Then you could tell me what you think. I know her conformation's not the best. Her neck is sort of an ewe-neck. You can't really tell from any of her pics, but when I'm lunging or riding her, it really really shows and its kinda ugly, but hey I can't fix that. But wow, a year. Well, alright!! So you think lots of circles, bending exercises, getting her to focus, give to the bit and carry herself in circles, bending and such will get her to better collect. Like I should try the exercises in Lynn Palm's book. But she says to "lunge and bit" like with a surcingle and side reins BEFORE you try it in the saddle. Is that necessary? Couldn't I just start riding at the walk, and get it down pat then move to faster gaits.
Oh, and if I really work with her like that, then take her on a trail ride and she totally goes back to her old way and I'm with a group of people and can't really do anything, then is that going to harm her the next time I try to work with her in the arena?

Thanks :)
