I was really reading Lynn Palm's book Sunday night and there's lots of good exercises that I'm going to try. The first one is make a circle of 70 feet and put cones or buckets at each quarter and ride through them and make sure you're going straight. How much smaller shall I make it for Sweet Pea? Cause I don't think my "arena" (backyard actually) is large enough. I'll see....but wouldn't it be better to make it fit her instead of just making it like for a regular sized horse?
Rode her yesterday and used the curb bit and I couldn't believe how nice she lowered her head and arched her neck and yeilded to the bit! I was really surprised. But should I use a curb or snaffle for all those exercises in Palm's book? She has pics of her doing those exercises with both snaffle and curb. What do you think?
