Hi Logan, here's a vote for ya. HAPPY ST. PADDY's DAY!
Well moving right along to 2001 with our Angel H.T. hightlites! Now I know that a lot of you use those fly masks on your horses! I used to too. Won't no more, costly mistake for H.T. It was like Aug and he was out in his pasture, I see his really shaking his head, but he had his mask on. Go investigate! There was a bee inside the darn make going to town on him. Well he got a bad sting above the eye, it swelled up bad. Cold compresses and the whole deal. Leave 5 days later for a show, he rubs it on the hay bay in his stall at the show and it's swollen shut the next morning. Have the on call vet out! Gives him a shot and checks it out, just really irratated it. Got better, we showed! He had a mickey, but we showed and he did well. About two months later, there's this little pea sized lump right in the serba orbit and it's moving around and each day growing. Call Larry my vet, but the fourth day when I called him it was the size of a golf ball. Larry says, it's gota come out, but he has to go to the hospital. He'll be knocked out completely so they can get it all, what ever it is. He goes for surgery two days later, comes out of recovery and looks like Mame from the Drew Carey show. Bright silver eye shadow over the eye lid. About 15 stitches and Rick (the surgeon) showed me the golf ball, he opened it up and there was this hard bean in it. Sending for biopsy. It was an encapsulated abcess with the bea's stinger in the middle of it. Thank you fly mask and a ton of money for surgery! No more fly masks for us! And that's when I applied for surgical insurance for him, besides his mortality policy.
Went down by Paige today and rode, had a good time, love that mare. But it's looking like she's might be starting her heat cycles! UGH! Regumate time! Came home and played with lover boy Indy and then Bullseye.
Love ya, Marion and the blondies.
