Hi Fancy Pants, here's a vote for ya. So H.T. got to live at the Mid-Atlantic Equine Hospital for 8 days after his colic surgery. You can bet I was there everyday to see him. I was working for the company that I retired from last year, and at that time was a department manager. I would go in and give my part-timers instructions on what to do and then leave on sick-time. My boss at that time was very understanding! I was driving a total of 200 miles a day, but my boy was worth it. He had some bad days the first few, but improved as each went on. On my day off of work, I would take Teddy (Lab) with me and sit in front of his stall on a chair and read to him. H.T. also loved when Teddy would go in the stall with him and they would kiss each other, that's how I knew he was getting better.
Was down to ride Paige today. She's getting so good and steady now, just a few minor adjustments when she don't hold herself up and she's hooked again in that lope! Then we did showmanship practice for like 45 minutes also. I think I was more tired than the mare!
Got home late cause of both things and just gave hay to the boys for a late lunch. Usually they have lunch about 3 pm, today it was like 4 pm. But they were happy. Love ya, Marion and the blondies.
