Ethan and I are having a blast being home alone, we go to bed late, get up late and of course, eat lots of junk food. My family gets home from the wedding tomorrow sometime.
All the snow has finally melted but it has been rainy and windy the last few days. Yesterday I lunged Sierra with her saddle on and did some ground driving with her also. Ethan wanted to ride Dakota bareback for a while but he was having trouble mounting him. He kept on either ramming into him with his shoulder and nipping at him or else turning his butt around so Ethan couldn't get on. Ethan has been the only one to ride Dakota ever since I got Cherokee and turns out he has been learning some bad habits. I tried to mount him bareback and he laid back his ears and bit me. Then when I tried again he reared. Dakota has never laid back his ears or tried to bite me before and he never rears either. I decided to work with him for a while before letting Ethan ride him. I got him on the lunge line and every time he tried to ram into me or bite I made him work on the lunge line. He caught on fast and soon he stood nice and still for me to mount. I trotted and loped him bareback for a while and then let Ethan ride. Then I rode Cherokee bareback for the first time, he was perfect. Planning on working some more with Dakota, Ethan lets him get by with wayyy to much. Have a wonderful Sunday♥
