Thursday evening after cleaning up the corral, I enjoyed a soothing time with Fancy. Fancy noticed her halter in my hand when I came out of the building and she came right to the gate. I took her out for grass and did some desensitizing with different size and color plastic jugs I had tied together. Then I asked her to walk across a huge cardboard box that had been rained on.
We went into the corral for some showmanship and halter practice. It has been several weeks since I asked Fancy to stand or park out. She was with me on everything that I asked her to. THEN, at the end of our practice, my little Fancy parked herself out. I wish I had someone there to video this! Fancy stretched her front legs farther than ever. And I didn't even ask her! I mean she really stretched so far that her back near hoof came off the ground a little. I did not even ask her to park out and she was letting me know that she was willing and wanted to give me her best try. I can not even find words for how special she made feel. Wow. That really blew me away.
Then Cowboy came outside. Cowboy wants to show Fancy in the youth halter class at the fair. So I tried to show him what to do and let him try. Don't know if he will be ready by fair time in September. When sunny skies return to Carolina, I plan to see if Cowboy can work with Trigger for the halter class. They already work very well together. But we don't know if Trigger knows what to do. I do not know if I can teach both of them in a short amount of time.
After Cowboy worked with Fancy, I let Fancy eat some grass in the back yard. I have never had a horse so sweet as my Fancy.
Has your horse ever blew you away by doing something extra sweet?

Our horseshow has been rescheduled due to expected rains coming in Saturday. That gives us more time to practice.

Have a nice weekend.

FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS, My Owner: “Features a selective sense of smell: bitterly complains about hubby's sticky sweet cigar smoke, while remaining totally oblivious to the almost visible aroma of her barn boots drying next to the heater.”

LITTLE COWBOY CLASS/Word of the Day: “Rider: Owner overstepping its bounds.”

Have a good night ✞
Love from Fancy & Frances ♥
