How far Dallas has come alone..
The day we got Dallas I thought he'd be so well mannered he had been trained by Melanie Watson before he came but obviously didn't work, in his past he got beat and starved and couldn't trust humans, he has been tethered up also. When he came he would rear up in my face, drag me everywhere, and would bomb off on his own when lunged and all this on a rope control halter. I couldn't win. I didn't trust him. I was just about to give him back when they suggested to ride him (he was broken in when I got him.) So the next day I did, he was so good when riding I couldn't fault him a part from napping. I could safely hack him, he wasn't scared of a thing. But then came another wall... his bridle. If I was riding with friends I had to start tacking up 30-45mins before them because he would try to kick me when I was putting his bridle on, he would drag his Micklem bridle on the floor (worth about £129) and even pin me against stable walls all because he didn't trust me but he did improve about 2 months later I could put his bridle on with no problems a part from now and then he throw his head around when it came to his ears but he's good now. Dallas now. Dallas has been to shows and won 1st and 2nd in jumping aswell as 3 clear rounds. In showing he has got a 4th, two 6th and a well done. He came to us without being able to jump and now has jumped 95cm with air to spare. I can easily lunge him without him dragging me everywhere he does rear up but rarely. And I can walk him with no problems. He has changed so much he comes up to me in the field. I can ride him with no head collar, lead rope or saddle in the field which has 8 other horses in. He has turned my life around I can trust him so much and I really love him, one thing I have learnt with Dallas is 'Never give up on that one thing you love the most.'
