Hi Nuala
I'm glad to hear that you are coming around, nice to have a Dr. in the house. Actually we have been at this place for going on 5 years now, so we have had winter here. Does not really matter where I have winter, I still hate it. Charlie was quite a pampered baby when I first got him, but he is tougher now, he will play out in the winter, but he has access to the open barn all day. Sterly has been used to living 24/7 outdoors, but over the last few years just to help make her life a bit easier, we keep her stalled at night. I don't ride her anymore due to a back issue, but when I did ride her I boarded at a nice little barn that had an arena. When I had to retire her, it was not an option for me to not keep her, I had to make other, cheaper arrangements, so it has been a compromise, I still have her, yeah, but I had to give up the boarding facility with the arena. Now I have Charlie (Royal Mes) he is my ride and Sterly is my retired best friend. They are at home with us. So I have to ride alone, and only in nice weather, I don't ride in winter at all. 2 reasons, I hate to be cold and it isn't worth the risk with poor slippery footing. So the pictures you saw on Sterly's page are "history" from many years ago when we did ride. I hope that all made sense, I posted those pictures when I ran Sterly for HOTM, you were just getting started on HC so you missed most of my stories, during our run I told a different story about her everyday, it was great fun. She is very special and I promised her a home until the day she dies, a promise I intend to keep. Thanks for the offer for medical advise, I will send an email, thank you. I actually feel like I am going to make it now, I'm at 4 1/2 months, the original prognosis was for 6 months, I just refused to accept that because I thought I was strong and in good shape. Truth is it is going to take 6 months before I'm strong enough to return to work, that is just the way it is, like it or not. OK, I have gone on way to much, talk soon, Love Donna Lee
