so happy to have HC back! trying to catch up with votes and blogs. had a great horsey day today. temps are cooler so it's easier to work. drove godiva and worked some more on backing up. she willingly took 2 steps backward then she's resisting. much better than the first time we tried it. then, I rode sing and buttercup. only a short day between my 12 night shift sunday night and my double day/eve shift Tuesday so I wanted to make it count!
I've decided to spend the month of October working on buttercup. she's real forward and charges around, roots with her nose and occasionally bucks. i'm moving my saddle back farther and have some concerns about saddle fit. it's not horrible but may be a contributing factor. by starting her training all over again maybe she will do better. normally she won't walk, she jigs or trots, but for 4 rides she's done well. working on neck reining this week. always a good skill for any horse.
