It's been crazy around here lately. We recently took in our daughter's friend that is a senior in high school and is enlisted in the Army National Guard, is waitressing, but cannot afford an apartment. Her previous living arrangement was unsuitable-the lady used her as a free babysitter, maid, cook, and still charged her rent even though the girl bought food too! And yesterday! What a day with the storms! We watched a tornado 1/2 mile wide just approx. 3 miles from us! We hear today that several houses destroyed, most were students at our girls' school. One family was trapped in their garage when a tree fell across it. I haven't watched the news to know about injuries but we're thankful all is well here! My sister lives about 2 miles from us in the opposite direction of this tornado, and she said she heard commotion, looked out the kitchen window and saw a tornado in the field across from their house, a lot closer than the one we saw! There were several in this area and I'm thankful there weren't even more lives disrupted over these storms. My poor horses, I turned them back out after the first storm of heavy rain and pea-size hail...then black on the horizon suddenly and wham! storm again! My daughter and I got them in their stalls, we were all drenching wet, and within 5 mins-over and sun shining! I said I'm not doing this again so I left them in, sorry guys! It was also my dad's birthday yesterday (81 yrs)and we spent it in our underground shelter (happy birthday dad!) otherwise a warm, beautiful day. I popped open a couple windows earlier in the day but did not ride, was too busy. We moved furniture and stuff for this new girl of ours and was catching up on things neglected during the week. Plus did my dad's laundry for the week. Soon the in-laws will be here from Florida for an extended stay and our daughter and son-in-law will be moving back from Germany! Can we say FULL HOUSE?! glad it's big enough! Sad thing is the barn is cleaner than the house haha!!I've got to get busy! I am also cooking Thanksgiving dinner again this year (everyone loves my Madeira turkey)and clean this house! Also, my prognosis is-they don't know! It is guessed that the lump is benign but still not certain...more tests later, Grr! Have a good night and hope to talk tomorrow if not too busy cleaning-I know the barn will be first on the list, as usual! ;)
