HI, left a vote. The horsemanship challenge is to put in 40 horsemanship hours with 30 rides in 12 weeks.

Today we did ground work. Lunging, backing, flexing, turns, walking, stopping, and also got a chance to work on loading in a trailer. She has been in a trailer once, that was when she was delivered to me. I tried to load her last summer, but she would only go half way in, so I knew this was something we needed to work on. Problem is, I don't have a trailer, so makes it hard to practice. Today, another boarder, Rocky, just happened to have her trailer hooked up, so I asked if I could practice on loading, she said yes, and even helped me with it. Didn't take long, and she was loading. Rocky did a great job with her. But she wasn't having her back out. So when I tried it with her, I did get her to back out. That is a must for me! I have seen too many people get run over by their horses who just run out of that trailer and over them! She stayed calm the whole time! I am so very proud of her. We will be trying it again tomorrow. Hopefully get a ride in too.
