Summers End
At the end of the summer in Armstrong, British Columbia they have what they call the IPE and the rodeo. Along with the IPE every year they have a parade with a theme and they hand out ribbons according to different categories. That summer we entered the ranch in the parade and a few of us girls rode in it. We didn’t win any categories that year but we got participation ribbons and had lots of fun doing it.

My aunty had a booth at the IPE to get more attention for the ranch and the kids/teen camps, so we were at the IPE for all 5 days it was on. We sold a lot of chili, and ate just about as much; so much that I couldn’t eat chili for about half a year. For those 5 days we were at the IPE from the time it opened until after the rodeo ended, so I didn't get to see much of Buddy. We went back up to the ranch late at night when we got home and did the night feeding in the dark so it was a little hard to see who was who and where they were. A few days after the IPE was over I had to say goodbye to Buddy and I headed home for the school year, promising to keep in touch to see how Buddy and everyone else was doing.
