Buddy decides to be a pain for a day or two!
Now that Buddy was on indoor board, it was so much easier to catch him and work with him. I didn't have to spend half an hour or more to catch him and then bring work with him. I had decided I wasn't going to put Buddy in one of the big fields where there is a round bale out for the horses, as I figured he wouldn't want to come inside since he loves his food. I put him in what we call "Fat Pen" he gets his morning feed before he goes out for the day and is only out with a few other horses.

There was one day where it was only him and another horse in Fat Pen, the other horse stayed in for the day so I decided I would put Buddy in a private pen for the day. That was a terrible mistake. I couldn't catch him, and the other girls couldn't catch him either. We left him out until the other horses were all inside and tried to catch him again, with no luck. One of the ladies who used to work here tried to catch him for an hour with no luck. Buddy was just so stubborn! At this time, there was quite a bit of snow on the ground so all the water buckets are stored away for the winter, so when I decided to give up foir the night I found him a big water bucket and filled it up and left it outside with him for the night with some hay.

The next day we tried again when all the other horses came in, and didn't have much luck. We decided to try and bring in another horse to see if he would be comfortable with them being around. He settled a little bit but still, we couldn't catch him. Later that night I worked with Margaret and Kim's horse Madi and we finally caught Buddy! I've decided I am never turning him out in a private pen by the outdoor board horses again!

He's been good ever since and is even alright with being out in Fat Pen by himself, he stands when you go to catch him, it's like he remembers how much trouble it was last time!
