SORRY THIS IS SO LONG!!!!!!!
OK SO—I’m in the performing division, “Red Division,” and there are 5 girls BASE teams and 2 boys base teams; in White Division, there are 3 levels, A, AA, and AAA, and each has about 5/10 teams; Blue Division is only teaching the kids how to ride so there's no teams; there are pony teams too, they do their own bareback drill, and pony Romans (standing on 2 ponies) and chariots; each team has about 30-40 people on them. I've learned everything I know about horses from them, I've been riding with them for 7 years. They accept anyone 9 yol-HS age who’s a resident of the county where the fairgrounds are. A lot of our teammates actually become the friends we have for life, our team prides itself on being "second family." We do our own drill and the two drills of the team a level above us. They're just scary (and fun!) to ride, especially the first time, at full speed!! Just this November I performed in my first "Annual Horsecapades" show on Cas, I got her all to myself for the entire weekend!! There were 4 performances in 2 days, the first one for under-privileged kids; we sell tickets and all the money goes to feeding the horses throughout the year and maintaining facilities. Stuff like Liberty (bareback jumping) and Trick, and Dressage (our only English discipline and you have to own and train your own horse for it), and non-mounted stuff like ropes and batons are all specialties! I also "JI" (Junior Instruct) the younger kids from horseback. We practice all year round and the two highest teams do Stock Show and travel a lot. Liberty IS so much fun!!!! Yeah it's amazing the diversity of rental horses they have there (if you want to see them all go to http://westernaires.org/KidsCorner/Livery.html)! Is dressage really fun??? Maybe I'll try it when I get a horse, do you think you can do it with western tack, lol, I can't ride English to save my life, is it harder do you think? Omg sorry this is so long, here's a vote for you trouble, nice hedgehog btw! And Happy New Year!
