Gypsy Prices
A Gypsy foal will cost anywhere from $5000 up to $10,000. As they grow, so does their price. A brood mare can cost up to and over $22,500. A Stallion will sell for $35,000 to over $50,000 depending on their sire. They are a very expensive breed to purchase. When I imported my first two Gypsies, the prices were lower. Over the years the cost of importation fees and boarding in quarantine, etc., has increased their value.
Be careful of what you buy. People are cross breeding and trying to sell the foals as Gypsies. Always ask for papers to prove parentage or proof that it is a purebred Gypsy Horse. If you are looking for a Drum Horse, it has to have Gypsy in it's pedigree. To check breed standards, you can go to the web sites for the Gypsy Cob Society, Gypsy Cob & Drum Horse Association, Gypsy Vanner Society, American Drum Horse Association or the American Gypsy Horse Breed Association.
