well see what we did was my sister is very small. Shes older than me,but shes 5'3 and ways only 100 lb's so i got the ok from the vet,but i let my sis just try to mount him and she got on him and everything was fine. She walked and trotted him for about 10 mins. and then tried to just ease him into a slow canter and it hurt him so he just wouldnt go. We're free jumping him now with a saddle on at 3 ft and hes clearing it with ease so i'm hoping that its building muscle around the callis so it wont hurt him!!
