A Note For You.
Hi!! Shybang just left a vote and a virtual apple -O for the little mama. Sounds promising. We had to do Jazz twice. The first AI did not take - I was so disappointed but I took her home and the vet had me give her a shot that brought her back in heat within minutes. She sweated profusely and stretched out like she had a colic attack (due to cramping caused by the shot) and 30 minutes later she was normal again. I took her back to the vet 5 days later (I think it was 5) and they checked her and then called the breeder (who was in Oregon) and had another shipment overnighted and inseminated her and that did it. I think the 1st time was because I had taken her in to be checked in preparation for breeding and the vet cultured her etc and found she was at a perfect point in her cycle so we quickly called the breeder to send a shipment and they inseminated her the next day but I think or timing was such that we just missed the point of opportunity for pregnancy. But it was well worth the cost of the extra shipment to get Shybang. She was exactly what I wanted. A filly, black or bay, and her markings were exactly what I had imagined. I wanted more dark than white and that's what I got. It gets so hot and sunny here in the summer that mostly white horses can suffer with sunburn. Don't you get pretty hot there in
Georgia? I have just Jazz and Shybang. I used to have 4 horses but one was my soon to be ex husband's which we sold because he wasn't really into horses and the other was my first horse, an appaloosa named Sugar who had to be put down when she was 25. Her back legs had become unstable and after so many years, one morning she just couldn't get up. It was so hard because her mind was still bright - I cried and cried. I learned so much with her and did everything from dressage, trail, cross country jumping and stadium jumping with her. She was a great horse. She'll be gone 5 years this Aug 13th & I still miss her. ttyl.
