Wow, Roxy is beautiful. Sorry Pattie. And I love the description of how you met. You should be a comedian. So, do you like my pink unicorn? I just suddenly got inspired that night to do something different and fairytaleish. I'm thinking of adding pegasus to Pippin's avatar too when I get a chance. I'm sorry that Pattie is under the weather. I wonder what is bothering her. I'm glad you liked my tumbleweed story. It really was very funny and it was big enough that he didn't really need to lean down to grab it either. Yesterday I took Pippin out with the cart and he was just so good. He cantered fast through the forest and slowed nicely to a fast trot when I told him and then we were able to squeeze through these two trees without any hitch while still trotting. Quite an accomplishment for him. And then he backed up as well to get into the right position for another entrance. Today was quite exciting for me too. I rode Prince this morning without Eddie being there and he was so good. He went over the jumps without any refusals and did all kinds of gait changes and stops with no problem. Well, he knocked down one of the jumps so I dismounted so that I could put it back up and also it would give good practice for mounting Prince out in the field. Well, he doesn't like standing still and to make it worse, when I went to mount, the saddle started slipping so I had to abort and tighten the girth. So then I mounted and had just position myself and my feet in the stirrups and he started bucking like crazy. There was no pause between the bucks and they were pretty big. I couldn't pull his head up because I didn't have a good hold on the reins and I bailed. I don't think I would have been able to stay on anyway. Well, I chose a bad place to land because I landed on a metal fence post that was at a 45 degree angle. I am so glad that I wear a helmet because I landed head first and it broke the back of the helmet completely. I ended up no worse than a bad bruise on my calf and a major headache which is steadily getting worse so I think I'm going to head off to bed soon. Prince, of course, took off and charged around the field until he found something to eat. I eventually got back on him with someone holding him and he again was a perfect gentleman with nice trotting and perfect attention to my aids. What a crazy ride! How's everything on your side of the country? It was in the high 90s here today and still lots of smoke but there's a slim chance it will rain later in the week and it's supposed to cool down. We'll believe it when we see it. It will probably thunder without rain and start yet more fires. Now, that's not pessimistic but pretty realistic. It's happened every other time they've said it would rain. Oh well, such is life in a mountain desert. We went blackberry picking this afternoon and I rode my bike and brought Pippin with us. He loved it and he was loose and just stayed right with us the whole time. I think he figured that we had finally figured o
