~Ω ♦ Hi! I need some help--my friend's 16-yr.-old Hackney pony has a very bad skin condition. I'm really trying to find out what it is. The hair on his face and ears is falling out, and he ITCHES terribly on his chest, neck, crest, and tailhead. He's already rubbed part of his mane and about half his tail out. He scratches himself with his hooves, on his stall gate, posts, and anything he can find. When we turn him out, he runs for a tree and scratches and rubs on the branches, and scratches and rubs some more, until he bleeds. The ithcy spots don't look very crusty or scabby just irritated. If I can I'll post a picture on one of my profiles. I feel so bad for him, but I don't know what to do! His owner isn't concerned with him very much she's more concerned with the horses she's getting ready to show *SIGH* but I really want to help him somehow! I know he's not getting the ultimate nutrition, and very little grooming at all. I'm also concerned about it being conagious--might I get it, and just as important, could the other horses I care for get it? PLEASE, if you have any suggestions blog me on Missy's page. THANKS SO MUCH!*♦ Ω~
