That is sweet
I got my Zorro free too, becuase he was an accidental breeding so he could not be registered (both parents Appendix QH), and the breeder could not really do anything with him, but he is turning out to be a nice horse. This boy I started fairly convetionally, lunging when he was a long weanling and stuff, however I did wait until he turned three to start riding, not much more than everyone else, but when the people I show with kept telling me I have to start him now before he gets to old, ect. then it actually seems like I waited. I was going to say in my last post that I think Shay is Beautiful! I was also wondering, in CA is there quite a bit of dressage and jumping, ect? Around here everything is Western, and a little bit of English Pleasure, but that has just been growing lately. And all of the horses around here are stock horses and most of those Quarter Horses. So any English we do around here seems to be the same peanut rolling stuff seen in the Western Pleasure market. With the peanut rollers always seems to come the young horse starters too. I actually did have a judge at one show, two years ago, get on the microphone and say to my WP class that we need to have our horses move out more, but that is the only time, most of the judges around here seem to judge for that. As far as me, I like to see some nice lift to my horses front end, just enough to bring their poll to, or slightly above the wither, making them nicely rounded and collected. I have always been more intrigued by the Classical Dressage, which I have read quite a bit on, but I do not know of anyone around here who actually teaches it or shows it. Oh well, I guess it is my fault for living in the upper midwest. Where that "west" seems to mean we can only be western people.
