Jezelle was in a horriffic accident!!!
last tuesday at camp i was riding Jez to show another helper(she's 17, has a just back from tranning 3 1/2 year old gelding and is always saying how bad he is and how hard he is to ride and how she always falls off of him when he bucks!)my riding instructor was out side of the ring watching(she thought the other girl would just get on try to trot and fall off) how easy and good she is for a green broke almost 4 year old, i was riding her in a new western saddle thats really comfortable(the other person usually rides western)so after about 15 - 20 mins. i got off and she was going to get on, i told her that her sturrips would probaely be fine, at the time the campers were taking turns riding 2 other horses bareback, i didn't bother to check the girth for her, but obvioulsy she didn't check it for herself, i was standing beside jez's head facing the saddle while the other helper mounted, the saddle started to slip and me and the trianer were telling her to get off, i was desperately trying to find the reins ans push the saddle back into place at the same time while the girl fell pulling the saddle and reins with her(she must weight at least 140ish and i only weight 120)jez reared and barley hit the girl on the the arm with her front hooves when she came down, jez galloped around the arena jumped the rope, half jumped half crushed a fence, went into the barn came out into a small paddock, crached through that fence, galloped up the drive way right be fore we got the gate closed, another horse from her herd got out into the yard and tried to smoosh me trying to chase jez but i held the gate shut, then jez went all the way up the 650ft driveway arounf the outside of her pastures fence line, down into the woods still followinf the fence trying to get to her herd, crached through a thrid fence, fell, i was about 700 feet from where she fell with several other helpers and older campers watching in pure horror, we thought jez was dead, she was on her side with the western saddle under her belly and her neck bent around so her nosed touched her withers, then she got up galloped around her pasture trying to get in the middle of her small herd, i told some one else to hold the gate went in to the pasturechased jez twards her little herd(they all ran over to the water tubs, and go in jez's way enough to make her walk). i ran over to her grabbed her reins, we got the used to be ne saddle off of her, hosed her down for 30 mins while my instructor called the vet, put her in a stall, put fura-zone on the cuts on her chest, neck, and front legs. while we were hosing her off we checked her over- she cut her lip so that a piece about 1 inch was dangling, had cuts all over her front left leg, and left side of her chest, had cuts on her back legs from her hocks down, and had some thing in her right eye. she finally got to the vet and hour and a half later, was in shock and was shaking all over, they had to cut off that little part of her lip but you can't tell, she h
