It was great to hear from you again. Yes, I've had a wonderful summer. It sounds as though yours has been great too. Wow, 2nd place standings. You must be so proud. It's a little cooler here today. Pippin is already starting his winter coat. I'm of two minds to clip him again. I haven't decided yet. I think if and when it gets back into the 100s I may go ahead and do just that. His replacement flymask has not yet come. I hope it doesn't take too long. The flies are just terrible. This evening it was windy. I always move Pippin from his big paddock into a smaller pen at night. There he has a shelter and less chance of being eaten by something. I always just open both gates and he comes running and whinnying and canters straight to his food in the smaller pen. Well, because of the wind the gate to the small pen was closed by the time he got to it. I had Melian on a lead tied to the fence right there and Pippin had every opportunity to trample her. He got really close twice but was good enough to avoid her. I was a little worried but then I was very happy because since he doesn't like strange dogs at all this was a confirmation of his acceptance of her. If that had been some unknown dog he would have tried to kill it. I was wondering if you could do me a favour and vote for Melian, my dog, in the cutest photo contest?
