i think it just depends on the conditions your horse is living in and what medicine they put on the pads. i used to live in MI and we put pads on all winter to keep snow and ice out of the sole. never had any problems. peek probably got a bit moist from the high heat and humidity. i jumped up on peach again bareback and no tack. my friend got some video. check out the pics on peek's page! she doesn't like it at all. tries to bite me and halfhearted bucks and rearing.
