sad news
i took my 12 yr old shep mix, brandy, to be put to sleep yesterday. this past year she's been declining. arthritic joints left her with only 2 good legs. she had to stop coming upstairs to bed with us. i made her a nice doggie bed neath the table where she liked to sleep but she insisted on sleeping at the bottom of the stair where she'd be closest to us. i miss her tail drumming out a beat against the floor or wall as i'd walk by. she didn't ask for much and was so grateful for a kindness expressed toward her. like all dogs are. i miss her terribly this day 1 in a world without brandy. she was so good around the horses and always stayed out of their way, unlike reese who wants to "herd" them! she did love to chase a car though!
