More of "Boo's Story"
In an effort to get Boo's Welsh Pony Association papers so that Katie can ride him in their shows next season, I managed to find out where Boo was born and a little more about his life story.
The poor little guy has been dragged all over the place in the first decade of his life. No wonder he had such a hard time settling down!
He was born at Mountain Ridge Farms in Utah. He was sold along with his brother, as a driving pair, to someone in Idaho. From there, they both went to Florida. Somehow, he (and his brother?) ended up at a very well-known driving barn in South Carolina, where the owner uses all black ponies with white marks in her teams. His driving partners all had "formal wear" names like "Spats" and "Top Hat" - sooo cute!
When I think of the fact that I bought him when he was six and a half, that means he had gone from - at least - Utah to Idaho to Florida to South Carolina to California in that short time. And that doesn't include all the places he must have been shipped to as a competitive driving pony (he hated that job, apparently) or any other moves between Florida and South Carolina.
So it makes me happy that we made the decision to let his perambulations stop with us, and to let him settle in to a happy, slow-paced life with us, where my daughter and I can give him all sorts of love and cuddlin, and RELAXED adventures from here on in!

Anyway, that's Boo's story so far - thanks for listenin'.
