Maybe try going a day without touching him in that sore spot. Then gently groom him all over and pay special attention to barely touch that area. If it doesn't require the vet, it should get better with time. He may have bumped a rock when laying down or hit his side on something. As it heals keep grooming everyday so that you can watch it and know that it doesn't get worse. When it is healed he should be ok. Grooming every day will help him bond with you and be a better listener to you. Best wishes with your delima
Hope you are ready for CHRISTmas! I had fun last night wrapping presents for my family. I wish Fancy could have somehow been involved. My family say I think I am supposed to include a horse in everything,LOL. We don't have an overabundance but we are great with what we have! Fancy says,"Be Merry and Bright for Santa is soon to come" and she gives you a vote.
