hey! How's Jasmine? What have you guys been working on? Yep I love owl city! And I board him at the place where I do 4h so all my friends keep their horses there too=) But my 4-h advisor and all the horses are actually moving in the fall! And I'm so excited cuz the new barn will be easily within 10 minutes of biking! And it's right across from these hugggggge trails! No jumping yet. but I've set up little jumps when I lunge and he has perfect form! And yeah he loves the trails as much as I do! What about you guys? Actually his canter has been getting a lit better! Giving him his head instead of trying to hold him back helps a lot because it seems like he's not trying to fight that pressure and just is more relaxed. Ditto did great at his show! I actually showed on Sunday but I took him up on western day (saturday) just 4 practice. On Sunday we had 3 classes we were entered in. Showmanship equitation and pleasure. He did fine in our riding classes even though we did not place. He was calm and focused on what I was asking him to do so for the 2nd show of his life I was very proud! In equitation (since his canter is so speedy) we had to take the inside to pass slower horses on the rail. And we were going past one (who didn't have a red ribbon or anything) who swirved right into where we were going and tried to kick poor Ditto. Well go got scared and started bucking but I got him under control and we kept going. The same horse was in our pleasure class and Ditto was just so nervous I took him to the middle of the ring. Which was fine and I expected that at only his 2nd show! What I didn't expect was how he did in showmanship! There were only six horses so I thought to myself yay! this means I get a ribbon! and green (6th place) will look great on him! So we did our pattern and he was great remembering everything we had been working on. We were all lined up and I we didn't get 6th! and I thought 5th really? and told Ditto what a good boy he was. But sure enough it went all the way up and we had gotten first. He was scared of the ribbon =) he's never had one b4! That was so nice cuz when he came he didn't know any showmanship! So he's actually been learning from what I've been teaching him! Not that I did anything great just given him love and time! We had a good but kinda hard lesson last night. Worked on not cutting corners or popping his shoulder while cantering. which is not easy on a horse like him who's just learning! Poor guys he worked so hard. He definitely deserved his nice rinse off when we were done. Then I got to ride again this morning. We had to go in the indoor because it was so muddy. he has been ridden in there but not for a while. When he was warmed up I asked him to canter and he started bucking which he had never done b4. not wanting him to get away with that I backed him and took him in little circles. I asked again but again he bucked except this time I fell off. My first fall on him. Now really not wanting him to get away with t
