How are you doing? I love the new photos. Thanks for those cute e-mails. Sorry for being so long offline here on HC. Things have just been so hectic with something going wrong everywhere.

Jewel has an awful wound. You can see it on Eddie's page. She cut her chest open in her corral. They're keeping the wound open so it won't fester and they won't stitch it because movement could tear it open again. I've rarely seen anything so horrible.

It actually looks worse now than it did. It's a little less swollen but now the fat and gristle are forming and hanging in strings which drip constantly like a tap that won't turn off.

Pippin is STILL swollen but I think that the anti-histamines are finally kicking in. The change in the weather may also be contributing to his health too. Rain and freeze probably took care of some of allergens. Today it's been 2 months since he first swelled up. Even his tail was swollen! Poor thing.

The cold I managed to catch at the beginning of this month is still lingering which doesn't make late night blogging as fun as usual. Plus I dislocated two of my toes and they're still bothering me. Sometimes I wish I could order replacement body parts. I have quite a few that could do with an upgrade. Too many injuries. I guess that's the price we pay for being active.

And then there's Melian. She was spayed last Monday and was so very sick. The vet had a hard time with the operation and since salukis are very sensitive to the anaesthesia it took her days to shake the effects. She cried every night last week and couldn't go potty #2 because she would scream in pain. And she couldn't lift her head. It broke my heart to see her like that. Finally on Friday night I gave her some metacam and it worked wonders. I gave her more again last night and today she almost seems like her old self. I was beginning to wonder if she'd ever walk properly again.

As for Prince, he's doing fine and I had a few really good rides on him. And managed to take him over a few small jumps. Eddie's not too bad either though he has a shoe boil on his elbow so he's limping a bit.

Happy Halloween and I hope you had a great weekend. It's quiet here out in the middle of nowhere. Ah, the peace! Leaving a vote for you and hoping it won't be too long before I blog again.

P.S. Any chance on taking Trigger to college with you?
