Hey everybody! The new year has brought a lot of stress and sadness with it, but its also brought some good things too. My instructors daughter died on New Years Eve day, followed by a close family friends father dying not 3 hours later, and then one of my school friends grandfathers dying New Years Day. BUT an arabian at the barn is pregnant and due January 8-12!! I will hopefully be there to see it unless it is a late night or during one of my semester exam days :( But after the next 2 weeks pass by semester exams will be over & I can focus on riding again. Its been raining alot here so Annie & Tickett have been dying to get out & havent been worked in forever. Moose is taking a break from lessons while my instructor is with her family because of her daughters death. The entire barn is making meals for her & the family & is giving them lots of love & comfort. On Sunday all the teenage barn horse-obsessed girls decided to dress up in fancy dresses & take the horses out to the pasture & take pictures. Dad (who is a professional photographer as a hobby/part time job) was going to help but he has been busy looking for a new job after getting laid off when his company needed to cut back moneywise. So it wasnt all that fancy, the horses were all excited to be out, & we had to cross the muddy creek to get to the "perfect picture spot" but we still had a blast (pictures posted on Annie & Mooseys pages!) The part of the pasture we took the pictures at is right next to a somewhat busy road & a lot of cars would slow down & watch us with wierd looks on their faces & a couple bikers even stopped & looked at us all confused! XD
A couple of my non-horsey friends asked me on Facebook if it was a normal thing to walk around the barn in fancy dressed while wearing muck boots or paddock boots, and they were dead serious too! Happy New Year to all & I hope to be on more often after exams! Wish me luck!
p.s. We are getting our dressage team jackets soon! Does anyone have a suggestion where you can order team jackets (like addidas ones in the spandex-like black material with no hoods, but is a zip up all the way jacket with pockets & the stripes down the sleeves that can be personalized or monogrammed for a sports team)
My school groups like drumline & soccer teams have them but you can only order those in bulks over 50, and we only need like 5. we cant find any places that sell them so any tips would be great!
