How is everything there? I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today was Pippin's birthday. I can't believe that he is 6 years old already! I've had him since he was a little tyke of 4 months old. Boy, he was a cutie and now he's a handsome stallion. (Still cute though!)

We got him a new pasture ball toy. Now, one may think it would be obvious whether or not he loves his ball but it isn't. He won't play with it if someone is watching. For a long time I thought he didn't care for it but he gradually ate the handle off it and many times he has been caught at night in the act of playing.

If you sneak up on him you can hear the toy squeaking as he bashes it about. As soon as he knows you're there everything stops and he pretends he was just gazing up at the stars. Another clue that the ball was being used is that it's always in a different place. And if I put it in his shed he gets mad at it and immediately boots it out of there! hehe

So, anyway his new toy will be given to him tomorrow. I want to see how he reacts. The old one will go to our buck. He needs something to keep him occupied too.

Pippin also has a large wooden spool (used for commercial piping) in his pen. On it's side it is about 3.5 feet high. No one thought he was interested in that either. Every day it was in exactly the same spot. It hadn't budged an inch. Or had it?

One morning after a fresh fall of snow I saw evidence of play! There were wheel tracks all over the pen and guess where the spool was! Yep, exactly in the same spot as though it hadn't moved. Was is it with secret playing?

I had a great birthday run with Pippin this evening. Of course, the dogs had to come too. We only went about 3 miles but it was nice to get out. I've been so busy with work lately and I'm sorry that I haven't been on HC much. I've been working late at night which is my prime HC time.

Melian had her birthday too on the 9th. She is now 2 years old. Time flies! This also means that it's been 2 years since Tiny died. I still miss her every day but it's easier now. Her anniversary is the day after Melian's birthday. And this week I have to celebrate the birthdays of my 2 sisters and one of my brothers. April sure is the month of birthdays!

I don't know if I will have much time to write the rest of this week. Still really busy here so I want to wish you a very Happy Easter and a great week prior.

Here's a vote for you.

P.S. Another birthday present for Pippin is his yearly shots. I got the twist on syringes today. Not looking forward to this!
