My Horse's Achievements: He was an awesome soul. He had so much go wrong in his short life, but he continued without a missed step. His achievement was teaching people how to keep going after negative situations. My mother wrote about him and said:
Hogan, A Most Unusual Horse Two days ago, we spent the day with Hogan. For me, it was a day a smiling beneath the tears. In his short life, Hogan always smiled beneath all adversity of which there was much in his short life. I remember well, the day we drove to retrieve him after two weeks with a "new" owner. During the time he was away, they had taken off his shoes which caused his foot to crack, taken away all medications and suppliments, and had ignored him so that he could not walk well. And yet I watched his temporary owner as he said goodbye to Hogan. He held him and stroked him and I saw in his eyes that he was going to miss Hogan. Somehow, Hogan had the ability to connect in some mysterious way with all who met him. When we got Hogan home, we took him out and set him free. After a very short while, he was running and playing with his head up high. As I sit here, I wonder what quality it is that made such a difference. I have lost pets before and also my parents. The void crated by those loses are still there but I feel differently about the loss of Hogan. Hogan represented everything positive in this world. No matter how bad things got (like being stuck under a rail for hours and hours), he always came back smiling. On his last day, he could hardly walk but he continued to play and smile. He seemed to always assume that you cared for him and no matter what your mood he could always bring a smile to your face. Hogan taught me a lesson I hope I never forget. No matter how bad things get, let someone help you put that smile back on your face. I am usually the "tough" one who helps others but on that day, Hogan helped me.

How We Met

I met him at the barn when my husband saw him in his stall breathing heavy. Turned out he was very sick. From that day on I couldn't not stop and see him. So when I found out he was for sale, I cashed out some of my 401 and bought him..

I miss him too
The another day I saw someone riding a Friesian on the trail. I remember thinking how I would like to have one day. Then I started to cry. Because I know I would want a Friesian just like Hogan. And I know there is a very little chance of that. Your sister Jackie (and Buster, Hogans best buddy). PS. I will vote for him (and Nino) every time I log-in.

Come visit me, Buster & Sissy.
