We still have snow laying, but, tons of snow melted yesterday, which left ponds of water standing. Hopefully they will dry up today or sometime soon,LOL. And my boys are back to school today. Just daydreaming about riding this spring and thinking: I only have my little "Fancy" horse right now and I think I will really enjoy riding her this spring, but if you have access to more than one, please tell me which is your favorite to ride and why, if you are like me and only have one, I would like to know what you like most about that one.
Tuesday while I fed Fancy she stood at the gate and when I went to exit she tried to follow me. I knew it, she wants to go out with me,LOL. It was barely over 30 degrees so I promised her a better day. Fancy got her better day Wednesday! We have had such cold days Wednesday felt like spring and it was just in the 40's. I cleaned up, groomed her, went over some of our old lessons, which to my surprise she did right off, just like we never missed a day at doing them. Then her favorite, we went out. ~short~update~
- It was sunny today!! I got to put the horses outside for a change, Lady was very happy for that =] We put our tree up today. My brother's a cat, Remmie, has never seen a Christmas tree before(he's just a little white kitten,so cute) so yeah, he loves the tree. He will hide under it and sneak up on peoples feet when they walk by.~ttyl~Mia @ Lady~

Hey! Thanks for HOTD! I totally wasn't expecting it! Zippy is beautiful! I got to work with Exel again this morning. It was probably the best day we've ever had. After he was brushed and fed we lunged with a saddle. He was okay but every time I asked him to stop he would turn and face me and when I asked him to trot he kept stopping and walking and then he was mad so he started bucking. We decided to take him to the round pen. We took his lunge line off and lunged him without it. Once he realized he was free he didn't pay much attention to us and just started running around and bucking. But then he started to get tired. We weren't going to let him stop until he gave in and started to listen to us. We were waiting for him to drop his head and start to lick and chew as a sign of submission. We waited and waited. He ran and ran. Neither of us were going to give up. Now he was getting tired and starting to drop his head but still no licking or chewing. We made him switch direction every once in a while by crossing his shoulder with the whip. He was very good about that and even though we never touched him with the whip we could get him moving where we wanted him to go. Eventually he dropped his head and started licking and chewing. Immediatly we let him stop. After that he just stood there until we told him it was okay to come in to us. After that he was a totally different horse. When we were still in the round pen we could lead him wherever we wanted without a lead rope or anything he was just learning to work off of my shoulder. After that he was tired and sweaty so we gave him a bath. He stood very well and after we worked in the round pen he never once tried to bite me! A huge improvement! I can't work with him again until Tuesday but we will probably do that lunging without a lunge line again because that seemed to work really well. Sorry to bore you with a long blog! Hi Zip, here's a vote for ya. From what I have seen of the clinics near me, it would be at least a 12 hour trip one way. To much for this cowgirl now. Maybe when I was younger, now if I have to drive 4 hours to a show, I feel like it took forever. Then the drive home after showing all day, really stinks. LOL Come visit me, Nuttin But Good.
