If I were set up with a indoor and outdoor arena's I too would go about everything like you do bcause of the horses being show horses!! Our horses enjoy the cool water because it is so hot here. I always start at the hoofs and work my way up. I use the warm water that comes from the hose when I first turn it on for face wiping/washing... Love my lawn crew!!! Fancy and I enjoyed a cloudy evening! We were overdue for this show practice and time just hanging out. Fancy did not freet for Trigger one bit, even though Trigger screamed murder every time we got out of his sight. We are expecting rains and clouds all week. But the weekend may be nice. We will try to practice a little each day. It was so much fun! And today was the first day Fancy was ridden since her heel injury. She was great. Like she never missed a beat. I am glad I did not rush her.

I planned on working with Fancy today, but the rains came in. She has shed her winter duds and she is slick and shinny. I guess I will get new photos after she has a bath. Trigger is slick and shinny too.
Mother's day the neighborhood kids came to visit Fancy and Trigger. The children gave them treats and pulled grass. Trigger is still quite aloof. I wonder if anyone ever gave him treats before we got him. He acts like they just rode him hard and put him up wet. Once you catch him, he is so sweet though.

We had a great riding day today. I rode Rocky and my friend's sister rode Cowboy while she rode her buckskin. It was so much fun and she loved Cowboy. She hadn't ridden in a few years since the other horse her sister had died at 24. He was the one she rode when she visited since he was Mr. Dependable, so now Cowboy is taking up the slack. i got to meet the wonderful joey and her sister nancy. they came for about an hour while i had lessons going so we kinda visited around the activity. had a parent take a few quick pics. i posted one of joey & me with sing, then joey and nancy with peach. it was so good to have my first meet up! I bet you are so happy to have Paige back with you fulltime! I hear you got to work out with mom too yesterday!!! ♥♡♥ Yep, grey skies changed my plans yesterday morning! I did spring cleaning till nearly 12:00! I ate lunch, and then brushed Deacon and Rocket-fly sprayed and turned them out. I got Whiskey next and bathed him! He looked so pretty...after that I was tired, plum pooped!! So I relaxed and watched them graze. It will be a few days before I can ride around my home area due to the rains! Had some Sadie time today. We both need it everyday. It's getting hot here, so I didn't ride. I put the halter on her and walked her off the property. She was a little nervous, so we took it slow, stopping when she needed to to look around and see that she was okay. Neighborhood dogs were barking at us. She walked a little fast on the way back to the house. Had to keep stopping her to slow her down. She loved it. Going to walk her more often to get her use going off the property. Going to work up to riding her. Last time I rode her off the property, she was nervous and wanted to fight me. She should trust me more now. Hugs and a vote. i rode buttercup. worked on walk/canter transitions. she gave one buck then worked out of it. my little rider fell off into a manure pile when smooch spooked! i felt bad for her because i usually drag the arena since the horses spend most of their day out there. didn't have time though. she was a good sport about it anyway. COME VISIT ANKA’S OWN PAGE ! It is so cold and rainy today (about 45°F) that it was good she did not get her HOTD, she is stuck in her stall because of the cold winds, rain & temperatures. Mid May it is usually very warm, more like 75-82°F . It can get cool in the summers or very hot & dry. Well, this is the coldest I have experienced it here in our area for close to 12 years! Feels more like Paris weather,LOL! Hi Marion & blondies & Bullseye, Harley labby boy. Well today is clouds and drizzle, missed out riding yesterday because of work, wouldn't you know it, no work today! BUT, in about an hour (3:30 my time) Anka gets shod for the first time. I don't think I will go witness that. I would prefer to have her in polurethene shoes to keep from sliding on our hilly roads before we get to the grassy trails. i rode sing for an hour last night. she was very good. she tends to cough and blow a bit at first, due to the dust. she's 19 now and has never done that before but i guess it goes with age. peek is doing okay. she coughs after she eats the low starch pellets. we're all coughing around here. she's not been ridden much these past 3 months. i'm going to have my little saturday rider rider her. :) Come visit me, Sing & Herd.

Long day of work from 6 AM to 5 PM. Came home and helped our (still without his vehichle for towing) neighbor unload his horse stables manure,etc. Took only 10 minutes but getting ridiculous. I claim ANKA for mine after all the loans,LOL! A tired vote for you and please vote Anka for her HOTD! Also heard from Thailand and DARLING is doing well on his meds for his perspiration problems and enjoying his ocean rides and hosing down with carrots cut & cleaned to eat! Hi Indy! I bought Deacon from my friend Bill He trained Deacon from his 1st saddling (2 1/2) on . Off and on he sold Deacon with in his family or inlaws. When I came along Bill had him back and of course when he found out I was looking he had me come out to Mccown to ride him. Thats when I fell in love and bought him. Bill is a great trainer and I'm very proud to own a horse he personnly trained! But...he only taught the basic's. Forward, stop, side pass and those type things. I have took those and worked from there with flexing, rounding his body & working off his hindend. ANyway, thats why I said that I may be holding him back from greatness cause he can learn SOOOOOOOOO much more. I can't afford a trainer so I try to learn as much as possible in everyway! Hi Marion, ANGEL PF last won HOTD in 2011 on another page. She had HOTD 2008,2009,2010 and 4th one 2011. She got Angel HOTM Oct2012 as you know but that does not affect HOTD. As you know a lot of horses running HOTM get HOTD during their campaign and then get HOTM. I asked Joey about this because, Anka, Alliance and Princesse (andall the other mares I had combined all had HOTD on different page numbers. Unless I missed one for PF in 2012 then Anka will not get her HOTD May 16. Please vote for her tomorrow also so she has a shot on a May 16th win day. I hope all of you moms had a beautiful Mother's Day. I had to work, but didn't mind. Being a mom and loving my sons and they loving me in return is what makes it so special. An emotional week this week. My oldest son, a Msgt in the Air Force, leaves the end of this week for 3 years in Germany. He and his oldest son celebrate their birthdays this week, too.
