Nicknames: Huck, Huckabee, Little Bit... We haven't recieved his papers yet so we don't know his full registered name!

Breed: Paint Horse
Height: Around 13:2 HH... he will be around 15:2 HH!
Color: Right now he's white and chocolate brown, but I think he'll darken into a piebald.
Type of Riding: Will be Western Pleasure/Barrel- s, but he's not yet old enough to train!
My Horse's Achievements: Well, interestingly enough, Huck is the only horse I know that has BRACES! He has a special condition called "parrot mouth" that affects 1 out of about 500 horses, so he has an overbite! He's SO cute!
My Horse's Favorite Treat: Anything edible!
My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Sleep (A LOT!), eat, run with Butters!
Pet Peeves: Fast movements! He's really easy-going and mellow, so he doesn't like it when you come running up to him.
My Horse's motto: "I'm cute, and I know it!"

How We Met
--- Sad news! Huckleberry is gone- my grandma gave him back to his original owner, and I just found out this week; I apologize for just now telling everyone, but I've major computer troubles and our computer has been in "the shop" several different times, so... I'm sad to see him go, but he's going to have a ball with her and I'll always love him to death! --- Many of you may remember BowDex, the horse I thought I was getting this summer. At the time, she had a 3 month old colt, from her and TruTruColor. We thought we were getting BowDex, but it didn't work out. However, my grandparents got a call Feb. 20 from BowDex's owner wanting to know if we wanted Huck!!! So now, unbelievably, we are the owners of little Huck! And, even better, because Butterscotch now has a companion, there is NO danger of us having to get rid of her... everything has worked out perfectly! We will all take part in Huckleberry's training (his mom is a champion barrel racer and his dad is a champion Paint so he's an unbelievable Western Prospect), but until then, I am reminded of all the ways the Lord has blessed me! I have never seen a 10 month old COLT so calm!--- Pictures 2-5 were taken of Huck THIS SUMMER when we went to see BowDex!=+=+= ♥ ALL MY HC FRIENDS: THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR HOTD, 2/23/09 FOR HUCKLEBERRY! ONCE AGAIN, IT WAS SUCH AN AMAZING SUPRISE! HE IS A REAL CUTIE, AND I COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED! I STILL CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE HE'S MINE! Long time, no blog! Sorry! Things have been really crazy here. Cramming for and giving End-of-Grade Tests, remediating those that didn't pass, getting ready for our big trip on June 1,2,3 to Pigeon Forge/Gatllinburg,having revivals @ churches,rying to get ready for VBS and rushing out to the stables every chance I get to see & ride Cody. Whew!! Cody is doing great!! We had a wonderful 2 hour ride Saturday. I volunteered to help a dozen Girl Scouts on a trail ride (some of whom had never ridden before.) It was an adventure for all of us. Everyone kept talking about Cody and how pretty and sweet he was. Of course, I just stood there grinning and being proud. (You know how it is!) Everyone! Sad news! Lex and I are Finally Back with ALL NEW PICS! Got moved and now we are only 4 miles from the barn - yippee! Thanks to all our Faithful HC friends for continuing to stay in touch during our absence :D!
We are enjoying near perfect riding weather (60's).
Lex participated in a clinic with FEI Judge Axel Steiner the weekend of the move. He was ridden by my barn buddy Gina. He did a good job (of course :-). The other new pics are from a walk we took across from our barn -lookin' for a 4Leaf Clover for St. Paddy's Day :D Hope all is well with everyone, look forward to blogging with you all. Hi Fellow Chicken Hater! I am so glad you are getting to spend time with Huck and Butters. I'll bet the bubble thing was funny! I had a cat once that loved to chase bubbles. I had a little beagle that had a love/hate relationship with them. He Had to chase them, then he'd sneeze everytime one popped on his nose, he'd shake his head and go after another one! Hi! Long time, no blog! Sorry it's been over a week. Had a lot going on here. Last weekend was Beautiful, so I spent all weekend with Cody! :) For about 3-4 hours on Saturday and Sunday and 2 hours on Tues. we got to work/play. It was awesome. Cody has gotten a little barn-sour over the winter, so Danny helped me with him a lot on Sunday, especially. Cody had gotten really anxious since his pal Fred was sold and he was the only one in his pasture, so Danny took down the fence between Cody and the other horses, so now they all have a lot more room to run and play. I gave my presentation to the Board on Monday night. I was SO nervous, but I didn't throw up or pass out :) One of the board members actually complimented us on working so hard to plan a trip that the kids would enjoy and be affordable! Unfortunately, the next morning, the principal called the four 6th grade teachers into his office and told us to put the whole thing on hold because we may have to do remediation and retesting for the End-of-Grade tests that week! What a bummer! I was so depressed that I just went down and spent a couple of hours talking the whole thing over with Cody that afternoon. I took several pics that afternoon and am going to put them on his page. On Wed. I got sick with a nasty virus, which kicked off my asthma, so I've not done much since then. I haven't even felt like blogging until today, so please forgive me for not voting this week and sending this generic "catch up" blog to everyone. I just got an e-mail that one of my co-teacher's moms died this morning, so I will probably be busy trying to help her out. My friend is a widow and her daughters do not live in the county, so I'm going to do what I can to help out. But, I'll try to get on and vote as much as I can! hey i am glad that you get to see your horses. when do you bring them closer to you or don't you know? i was working this morning so i wasn't on. i did get to ride/work navajo this afternoon. i rode him and i worked on ground-manners. he did well again. i hope it lasts. it was so nice and i just wore a light pull over. i think it helps if it is warmer and then he isn't as frisky. i told him to walk beside me without a lead rope and then i told him to whoa and he did well. hope you get to ride this weekend. tomorrow is navajo's day off. monday we are probably going to work on lungeing if all goes the way as planned, which it is known to not go as planned. ttyl ruth ann and navajo Come visit me, Freedom & Daisy.
