How We Met

i read this story and knew he was meant for my family.

Diesel's Story: It was Buttercup's first time to foal. She needed a little help birthing him but not much. His 2nd day we noticed he wasn't nursing properly nor was she letting him nurse. So we called the vet. He came out, ran a transfusion and we found out she wasn't producing enough milk. We gave Buttercup some paste to bring in her milk meanwhile we had to bottle feed him. About a week and half later she had milk and was letting him nurse. Thank God! Soon we started noticing his eye was watering and getting worse by the day. So again we had the vet check him. He said it was an ulcer. (most likely when they laid him down to give him the transfusion something jabbed him in the eye) We used an ointment and the ulcer went away but the white dot/film did not. It is still there a bit. We were told by that vet to wait till he gets a bit older and give him steriod shots. But we also heard from a different vet that it can be lasered off. So we have just decided to wait till he gets a bit older if he hasn't found a new home by then and see what we can do..
