Hey. I really tired today. I was at the barn. It looks like hopefully Lacey can start making a slow recovery. Nothing is set in stone. This morning she had diearhea, then like an hour later she just fell over in her stall. They got her up and took her outside to try to graze her and in case she died right there the campers won't see it. Then the vet rushed over and gave her more liquids through the IV. Then he stuck a long tube through her nostril and stomach fluids and toxins came out. I had to hold her durning all of this. The vet said that she is may start to recover in the next few days. Thanks for the vote. Grey and I appericate it!!! :) Today I walked out and opened up the gates so then the horses can run out. I got some cute pictures and a cool video. Then I went out to the pastures and took some pictures and bleached the throughs. Grey came right up to me and followed me around until I left. Meanwhile there is hay all over that he could be eating. I hope to post the new photos soon. Here's a vote for you...

hi
how's your week going? i got a good ride in yesterday on 2 of my horses, including a bit of jumping. still trying to prepare in case i'm able to do the horse show in april. made an appt with the sports vet who's really good with lameness issues. smooch just isn't moving right with his back end. last year he was off in his left hind and i took him....x rays negative. vet told me to keep working him as usualy and give equioxx for 2 days. i want his back and hips checked. maybe prob is higher up? hope you're doing good. ttyl.Come visit me, Sing & Herd.

Thanks for the vote! Henna is not my only horse I have three others, but altogether my family has 18 going on 21. Most of our horses are horses that other people would send to slaughter!! My mom and dad give them another chance. They have never gotten rid of one. Henna and I like to barrel race. We also enjoy doing 4-H. Haha, yeah he is like that when riding him. Now if you bring him his beloved carrots he will act as if he is your best friend. He loves him some carrots! Aw, my friend's horse is like that. Kind of a 1 person horse, only she can get near him. Anyone else that does... he pins his ears back to. Although he has let me ride him, and he was a good boy. He is a reining horse so I just love to get on him and do roll backs and lead changes! :D Yeah, I can see what you are talking about with a green horse. peek has very limited under saddle training due to my lack of small riders of quality. the little ones who ride her don't know about leads. i'm working on softening her vertically and laterally while ground driving. she's starting to "get it" i'd say the last 2 times. she bends inside around the corners and is breaking at the poll to reinback. the little girl who rides her is thrilled just to canter and kinda opens her fingers on the rein and goes forward in what i call the "cowboy" style! yee haw! i try to explain to her that her reins have to actively direct peeks head, neck and shoulders but she can't comprehend. i was working with her on identifying her diagonal by "feel" rather than "look" and she was almost in tears, saying "i don't know what you mean". i finally had her sit on my lap, facing away, and i "trotted" my legs and told her just like she could feel my right then left leg move, she can feel the horse's back move. she was freaked out and didn't get it at all. she's only 9 so it's hard to get through to kids sometimes. she's the one that's riding peek in the video of peek jumping and also running out. you can see in the "naughty" peek run out what happens when peek finally goes over the jump....the rider is completely behind and yanks up the rein to save herself. i told her it's no wondr peek doesn't want to go over the jump! lol. ouch!Come visit me, Sing & Herd.

whenever i think of silver bells i think of the movie "something to talk about". love the climax of the horse show jumping! anyway, congrats on your horse show sweep! lol. sounds like you had a great time. yeah, my mare sing learned the lead changes in one or 2 sessions, if i remember correctly. she's very smart and has that thoroughbred heart. prob is if i try to do counter canter she thinks it's wrong and does the lead change. no biggie since i don't show dressage or anything but i wish she wouldn't try to outthink me!Come visit me, Sing & Herd.
