That's okay.....
Stop by when you can. I know about being busy...I'm not in school any more. In fact, I went to by 30th highschool reunion this past June! But I work 40 hours a week, take care of two horses, a husband, 5 cats, a house, and a dog! Of course, my husband helps some but still.....and I try to ride everyday too. Not today, though, because my husband and I volunteered at a dressage show today I scribed and he was a tabulator.

I have only been in the AQHA horsback riding program since the end of July and we are over 70 hours.

Thanks for stoppin' in I voted!

3 profiles was way to much to keep up with! haha so i just decided to delete 2 and keep one, which is much easier. lol Work is awesome, and I dont think i've talked to you since my new purchase! lol well i've been thinking for a while that i was ready for a horse that i could relax on and be able to trust and just do whatever with. Which is the exact opposite of Cooper. I cant do anything on him other than jump jump jump! haha So i just kind of got burned out with the big jumper stuff, so a girl that takes lessons from me jumps 3'6 and wants to start showing again, so she is now leasing Cooper from me. And my dad has a horse who is an appy/warmblood mix who can jump 3'6 but is only 7 years old and is in need of some thoroughing in his training. So just yesterday i bought Klondike (the appy/warmblood) from him, and i'm now going to start training Klondike and my plan is to show him in Adult Hunters which is 3'3. I'm so very excited! Well i gotta run ttyl!

How wonderful to meet you!
Yes, I love all horse but the QH really floats my boat. Yes, I used to show reining with a QH named Little Van Joe. His barn name was Danny. He has long since moved on to horsey heaven along with a great cutting horse I had named Goldie. I used to do all the cowgirl stuff but I'm older now and dressage is a lot like reining on a bit more, how should I say it, elegant. But that is not all Fancy and I do. We trail ride a lot. Are you enrolled in the AQHA's horseback riding program? We also run barrels for fun once in a while, compete in hunter hacks and paces, practice reining moves like roll backs and good stops. Fancy's favorite thing to do is jump! So we do a little of that too.

Boo, sure is a fine lookin' QH and you two really look good together. He reminds me of my gelding Danny only Danny was pretty tall 16 hands. He was tall for a reining horse but he was real nimble. He also was a dun but a red line dun. I sure do have a soft spot for QH's.

Again, I'm so glad you stopped by to see us! Please come again. Best regards, Lisa and Fancy.

Well Sammie Just started training a couple of months ago... Like three months ago and its weird, ciz she's learning the advanced stuff before the basics (Like the turn on the hindquarters etc.), but ya we have only been riding her for about a month and she can stop, backup, turn with leg aids, trot, but we still need to train her to lope... And my grandma knows a pro trainer and is planning on letting her train Sammie for 3 months this winter, or fall. Im hoping she'll teach her to respond better to reining and how to lope... After that I can teach her to do english very easily!!:D

The horses are great! sadly i dont see Elroy anymore. and I rode Gimme for the first time since i've had him back yesterday! He was very weak, but i could tell he wanted to jump and he was happy to be ridden, so hopefully i'll start working him very lightly everyday until he gets back into shape. And i'm thrilled because i had an 18 year old girl who was looking for a good prospect show jumper to take to college with her, she came and tried out Taylor and fell in love with him! So hes headed up to University of South Carolina! i really hope they do well together! and Cooper and Gimme took to the new barn well. I just started my first day of training last week and i love it! My students are wonderful! well hope to talk to ya soon!

yep i actually just graduated high school in May. My mom wasnt to happy about my decision to not go to college, she wanted me to get a degree in education or something and then go and train. and just in case the whole training thing fell through i would have a teaching major to fall back on but i was defenately not going for that! lol So got a job offer from a lady who used to ride for Karen O'Connor shes got a really nice barn and all of her riders are amazing! So idk how i did it but i mananaged to get a job there! She said as long as i could pay for them i could bring however many horses i wanted, but i decided i was only taking two (Taylor and Cooper) but now i'm kind of torn. i mean i really really want to take Taylor, but Gimme needs me! so i'm still deciding. But yes i will still compete (of course! haha) but i dont think i will compete as much as i did since i'll be working and training more than i was before.

Thats awesome! I bet you're thrilled! nope i've never done anything other than english shows! haha naa Elroy hasnt quite convinced me yet! but its still very fun! haha i'm so sad though because today was my last day to ride Elroy! I got a job at this really really nice barn to train about an hour away from my house, which i am extremely excited about but since Elroy isnt my personal horse i cant take him with me (and of course Sean wouldnt sell him to me, not that i could afford another horse anyway! lol) but Cooper and Taylor are good, Taylor's kinda mad at me though cause hes been at the same barn practically forever and this is his first real time moving to a new barn and hes not to happy about it (i'm taking Cooper and Taylor with me...i was NOT giving those two up no matter what! haha) but i'm moving in tomorrow and i moved Cooper and Taylor in today, Cooper was fine but hes moved plenty before. anywho we're doing well! how have you guys been lately?

ummm well idk how long i'm gonna have access to ride elroy since hes not totally my horse and Sean is just letting me borrow him until he gets into his house. but we do have some cows so once hes in shape i probably will. Not alot, but just enough that i can have fun and it not mess up my equitation in english! lol and thats great about Sundance,i'm sure he'll get them down pat soon as long as you keep working on them! It took Taylor a while but now hes popping them out automatic! and we thought Cooper was never going to get them but now hes auto with them to! lol

He sounds like hes doing great!! and awesome about his leads..have you been working on lead changes alot? and one of my dads friends needed a place to keep a couple of his horses so my dad let him keep his horses at our place. they're all absolutely drop dead gorgeous Quarter Horses, he does all the reining stuff but he has a horse that he doesnt get to ride that much (his name is Elroy! haha) So hes letting me ride Elroy for him and i never knew that western was so much fun! haha except for the fact that Elroy hasnt been ridden in about a year so he can hardly canter a lap around the ring without almost passing out! lol but Sean (the guy who owns Elroy) is supposed to start giving me some western lessons just for fun which i'm sooo excited about!! and it helps i'm absolutely in love with Elroy! lol i'll probably make a profile for him soon!

the show went great!! We decided to just show Cooper in Amateur hunters which is 3'6 which was kinda wierd for him since hes so used to doing the jumpers but he did awesome and got a 1st in both u/s flat classes saturday and sunday..and we got a 2nd and a 1st in the eq. on the flat saturday and sunday then we won the jumping classes both days so i was pretty excited! and then Saturday night i decided to enter him in the mini prix which was only 4'3 (noting for Cooper haha!) and he came in 2nd cause we had a fault on the last jump of our course but second is still good considering the people we were showing against! haha so all together it was great! and Taylors doing pretty good today, he got fed up with me today and starting bucking like a little phsyco bronco but it was fun and i calmed him down!!! haha so hows Sundance?

Oooh, sounds like fun! I wish I could ride everyday:( I bet Sundance enjoyed the little break though. I bet he is really in shape if you ride every day! :) That would have been so cool to ride him on the beach! Well there was a barrel race today, but I couldnt go because I have to stay home and work on my summer reading for school. I went to the lake yesterday with my friend and had alot of fun. I learned to knee board! :) I hope to go ride my horses bareback this evening or tomorrow, though. So are you riding today? Well here is a vote, whinny back soon!

Thanks for the vote for Soldier!
Soldier was trained Saddleseat, and he won a few awards showing in that. When he was a Stallion though, he won many halter, and appearance classes. He;s responding great to hunter training though, and he has great conformation over the jumps. Very soon, we will be showing hunter, locally though. I have no desire taking Soldier into the higher level jumper shows though, he wouldn't be able to handle it, and he would get stressed out. But i would go on another horse!

Sorry i havent gotten back sooner but i have been very busy. Last week i had my county fair and cheer camp. Buddy did very good at county fair and did amazing in trail class. We were the first people to go and nobody had a pattern anywhere near as good as ours. He was amazing. I was so proud of him. He is just a sweet boy. and big news we now have another horse at the house. He is a 3 year old appaloosa gelding that i am training for someone. It is lots of fun but that is also keeping me busy. The 3 year old is called Blazin Rocky Man or just Rocky so if you hear me say something about Rocky it is just the new horse i am training. WEll left a vote! Sorry its been forever. ttyl cathy and buddy. and does anyone know who did end up getting August HOTM and buddy is now trying to get September HOTM so lets help him try and get it this time. I will try and be on every day so please help him get it. HE really deserves it as he does so much and is the sweetest boy to me and has a big heart too.

Well i am glad fair is over haha. Buddy was a good boy. He ended up getting second in halter showmanship english pleasure western horsemanship poles and egg and spoon. He won trail english pleasure and he got third in western pleasure. He also ended up winning Versatility so that made me the happiest cause we had to do showmanship bareback equitation on the rail and a game. I also went in tandem bareback with a friend on her horse and we won it so fair was pretty good. How have you and sundance and lightning been? left a vote

Hey Sundace=)
Yeah it was a fun and productive day. That was the first time I had ever tried to get Gracie to jump. They really didnt jump, well Ferina did once. Gracie just trotted over it, and she did good I guess, she went from knocking it over to trotting over it and not even touching it. No, they are NOT jumpers, haha, and it wasnt high at all. We just stood up a cinder block and put a log in the top hole. haha, yeah, not high at all. But they are just trail horses. I dont know much about their past, but I am 98% sure they have never been jumpers haha!! Gracie sure can turn really good though, and once she gets going she can go pretty fast (when cantering Gracie and Ferina side by side, Ferina's medium canter is as fast as Gracie's medium trot) but I dont know if she has ever been a barrel horse. If she has it was a while back. haha well anyway here is a vote for Sundance, sorry this is so long, but anyway whinny back sooN! =D

I'll be showing Cooper in Adult jumpers which is only 3'3-3'6 but its just a local C rated show so nothing big. and i'm showing lovebug the pony i'm working with in large pony hunters which is 3ft. and no hes never really gone to the extent of throwing me completely out of the saddle over the jump, but its almost happened a couple times. I've ridden so many horses like that though that i know how to stay on and ride the horse like it needs to be. and yeah its very easily determined that hes an off the track horse! haha but he is an awesome mover/jumper and i'm sooo thankful for that!! cause i'm hoping that when i have to retire Cooper i can start riding Taylor as my full time show horse!

Oh yeah, trail riding and just riding around our land is what I do more than anything. I do that on the horses that I own, Gracie and Ferina. Today me and my friend rode them and we made a home made jump and tried to get the horses to jump over it. Ferina jumped once, but the rest of the times just walked or trotted over it. Gracie did great trotting over it. I also worked on Izzy's leading, Gracie's fly spray problem, and worked with picking up Gracie and Ferina's back hooves. Well here is a vote, whinny back sooN!

yeah teaching a horse lead changes isnt hard at all! just keeping them consistent with them is the hard part! haha but yes instead of 1 step forward 2 steps back its more like 2 steps forwards 1 step back! haha he'll be awesome a couple days in a row...then the next day hes a bad boy! but hes coming along nicely and not really acting up at all..we're just trying to chill him out a little bit so we can start jumping more without him running at the jump, jumping me out of the tack, then running out of it! haha but we've actually got a show this coming weekend. i'll be showing Cooper, and a pony i've been tuning up for a friend of mine in large pony hunters (3ft. hes a 14hh. conmera) and then i'm taking Taylor just to see how he reacts to the change of scenery, but i'm sure i wont be showing him until at least next year! haha
