He's a buckaroo
Yup, Dan'l likes to buck. But I'm very proud of myself for riding out his last bout. We were cantering uphill along a fence line when my mare (being ridden by friend) passes us. I ease his pace down a little bit so Jenna wouldn't feel like she has to race and ease back down more willingly for her younger rider, but Dan rounded up on the bit... kept rounding... and shot straight up. I'm pretty good at predicting those, so my seat was already pretty set, but jeez does that boy buck hard. I knew I had to ride him out, but if we bucked past Jenna, I was afraid my friend would get scared and loose control, so I doubled him into the fence and what do you know it worked! Unlike my last ride on a fresh greenie- he figured "fence shmence" so I had to bail because I knew there was no way I was going to take that horse through a barb wired fence (in that case, we were riding down a rode between two fenced crop fields.) So we survived, and all is well, but boy was it exciting! (Thank goodness for the knee deep snow drifts too, otherwise Dan might have felt a little more willing to buck some more!)Come visit me, Jenna & Awesome King.
