Nicknames: we call her Indiana or Indy

Age: 24 years old

Gender: Mare

Breed: Quarter Horse

Height: shes about 15 hands

Color: shes a bay with two front socks, a spot in the shape of a heart on her head, as well as a strip

Type of Riding: i barrel race, bareback, trail ride, and many other speed related events, we partake in 4h activites, open shows, 2k barrel racing, and WIHA events

My Horse's Achievements: yes, i was "renting" her in 2008 while my barrel mare was sick and unable to perform. and thanks to indy she helped me achieve 2K horse and cattle companies 2008 series youth champion title

My Horse's Favorite Treat: she loves gardettos, and apples

My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: she loves her job.. many ask me when i plan on retiring her from barrel racing... my reply is "I will stop barrel racing indy when she stops liking her job" shes also a great trail horse, and gets along with any horse

Pet Peeves: she hats when it rains on her head and hates being away from my other mares

My Horse's motto: Go Big or Go Home! or Let Er Rip!

How We Met

i wasnt actually looking for another especially not an older barrel horse, but durring the summer of 2008 my barrel racing mare shadow ended up colicing, getting and abses, and recieving alcurs. so needless to say barrel racing for the summer for her was over. i was 1st in point for the 2k barrel racing youth divison, and my uncle jeff said he'd allow me to use his older mare to keep up with points. he said she almost always tipped and wasnt the fastest horse out there, plus she was 18. well i ended up useing her, liking her, and buying her. my fastest time at 2k was 17.1 with shadow. and in one night i won 2k horse and cattle company 2008 series youth champion, and ran my fastest time of 16.9 with indy!.

she is beautiful! I understand your part in retiring her when she stops liking her job and i don't think they ever stop my dad had a 28 year old paint he used for pick up horse and that horse loved his job so much he started going blind and you would see him in the pasture but once he heard the sounds of the arena he was a colt again. good luck with your barrels here is a vote come visit buddy, thyme and me sometime. :-)
