How We Met

I got my first job at nine. Kim hired me to help clean stalls and knock down cobwebs, by the time I was eleven I got my second job with Kim's sister, Janet. I cleaned stalls, groomed horses, fixed fences and did anything else they had. Even plumbing and moving one of their family members! I saved my money and when I was thirteen Janet had four foals. She thought I was old enough to start training them so she let me and another barn cleaner each choose a foal to work with. I chose a long legged, small headed, kinda ugly colt. His name was Zack. Zack and I just clicked. When I was sixteen my dad finally said I could buy a horse! I went right to Janet and told her but I knew I couldn't afford Zack. He was way out of my price range, but Janet got him out anyway and we were standing around talkng and Zack at three years old was getting restless. Janet handed him to me and he quieted. Without Janet I would never have been able to buy him, she gave me a break on the cost and I have owned him for two and a half years..
