GOOD MORNING!
A Sunday vote from Fancy. Saturday i groomed Fancy and handgrazed her in the back yard for a few hours until the rains started. I won't be leaving the house today. Won't be doing much outside either, it's rainy and very windy, just don't feel like trodding the weather this time :) How was your weekend?

A Saturday Vote, oh yeah! And now with great pleasure all the snow is gone until next winter;) :)
Friday afternoon after my sinus meds let lose of my brain i adventured myself outside about 5:30pm to clean up and feed Fancy. Well it was so nice outside I started grooming her while i let her graze in the backyard. I decided to saddle her and do some ground work and i wanted to sit on her again. So I went to back porch to get my shoes. Fancy stood at the gate until I got back. Since I wasn't sure I still had her attention i got the whip and desensitized her to it and lounged her left and right to make sure she was ready to listen. This only took about 5 times and she showed me she was ready. I stood in the stirrups on each side one at a time and leaned over rubbing her neck and side. Then i tapped her hind end to desensitize her to my foot hitting her and I tapped the saddle all over to. And I mounted and dismounted a few times on each side. I figured since she is very forward I would just sit there until she started to walk. I rocked the saddle a few times to let her know that i move too. Then I waited. And she did walk. I let her walk until she stopped. Then I dismounted and she gave me a horsey neck hug and I hugged her back and gave her tons of rubs and horsey nose kisses because I was so happy. Then I let her eat some more grass. I know this isn't much but for me with her it is. Because she is plenty ready and big enough to carry me as long as i don't gain a lot of weight any time soon,LOL. I am just taking it slow like we have done so much already, i go about it like we are just having fun together and it seems to work with her. I pray she continues to be so good for me. She is not perfect but i can work with her and we somehow being blessed get it done!

Hi, here's a vote from Fancy. We made it to the middle of this week without a day of school due to the snow. Maybe it will be warm enough today to clear more of the back roads. I sure would have loved to ride Fancy in the snow. Hopefully we will get the chance in years to come.

Spike sounds wonderful. She is deffinitley the one for you. Thanks for visiting, voting for Fancy and the kind compliments. Fancy has been exposed to just about everything except actual riding. My baby boy sat on her 3 times last summer while we walked her. This spring I plan on training her to be ridden.
Fancy learned how to lift her ball by the handle and she is so funny pushing it around and tossing it. She must like it, she has forgotton about playing with her barrel. I think she prefers the ball because it is softer than the barrel. If your horse has a special toy how does he or she play with it? This is part of my message from earlier, my mouse wouldn't work. Thank God for teenagers,LOL.
We didn't get to walk yesterday because the men came to cut the large tree down and it took all evening. They got the tree down and hauled off the top part. They are coming back with some equipment to load the bottom half cause it is tooo big. They are going to make something with the wood so they couldn't cut it down. This was an excellent experience for Fancy because she was afraid at first. About 20 minutes into the sawing she calmed down and didn't even pay them any attention. I was so proud of her. Everything is a learning experience for our horses, which can be good or bad.
Life is short and friends are few, we appreciate HorseChannel and all the friends we have made thus far. Fancy and Frances here leaving you an it's been wonderful reining as November HOTM vote. It has been a lovely Fri and Sat here in NC. We hope for more of this pleasant weather today. Both days we hung out in the yard with Fancy. Last night when I put her up my boys decided to take their Jack Russel, Bindi, for a walk up the street. Oh, this got to Fancy. She saw them walking toward the street and she twirled, looked at me, looked at them, reared, looked at me, lifted her head over the gate and looked at me. I knew she wanted to go. Fancy was saying come on and my boys were saying come on Mom. I felt bad, but it was getting dark and I had to put the water hose up, lock the shed, etc. I promised to accompany them another day because I don't like to walk Fancy out of the yard after dark. All in all our weekend has been great. We hope your weekend is all that and more!
