Nicknames: Her registered name is Reds Foxxe Lady Bug. She is on really good pasture, so she gets called Chubby, or when she is bad, Stinker. Or if it is something new, Easy Girl.
Age: 12 years old
Gender: Mare
Breed: Quarter Horse
Height: She is exactly 14 hands (well, with my hands, as she doesn't like the tape measure too much yet).
Color: Chestnut, with white socks on her back feet. She is darker than when I first got her.
Type of Riding: We do western riding. She is being trained for barrels, and is coming along nicely. Check out our videos on horse channel. Just look up "Pebbles" in the search.
My Horse's Achievements: She did a really nice lope the other day that was easy and smooth and just really nice. And she is loping the barrel pattern and doing really well with that! I hope we can start going to barrel races soon.
My Horse's Favorite Treat: Pears...Pebbles loves pears. Oh, and apples and peppermints, and pears, and carrots, and pears...did I say pears? Ha-ha.
My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: She likes to eat, and she likes to be be given treats.
Pet Peeves: She isn't a fan of St. Bernard dogs, or sheep, or grasshoppers. But, we are working on all of that.
My Horse's motto: Maybe if I be a little bad, she will quite...LOL.

How We Met
My horse Halle was getting too old for what I wanted to do, so I decided to get a younger horse. Well, the people that dad bought Halle from, had a mother/mother-i- n-law that was selling some horses because of hay prices. At first we thought that her horses would be too wild for me, but they remembered that they had one up there that they thought would be a good match for me...alas, Pebbles. I was leary when I went up to look at her, because she didn't have very much training, but she behaved really well for not having had much training, and not being ridden in a year, and I was sold. So then, I posted Halle for sell, and she sold about a month later, and the day after I payed for Pebbles and we got her home July 15, 2009!.

FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS: “A mother understands what a child does not say” (unknown)
Are you finally enjoying spring? We went out of town last night to help a friend. It was soo late when we returned I had to call it a night. Fancy is ready for fun. She lets me know she wants an outing by neighing to me when I go outside for any reason. I tried to get some help taking the cart out, but no help just yet. I am giving my mom flowers for Mother's Day, perennials that will come back for her to enjoy. She seemed to be happy about that. I am tired of being still and I am ready to get creative. LOL.

FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS, It’s Show Time!:
Dear Horse Owner:
Are you experiencing too many second and third finishes behind inferior horses at horse shows? During a trail ride, does your horse forget everything he was bred to do?
Well, this simple chain letter is meant to bring relief and happiness to you. Unlike most chain letters, it doesn't cost any money.
Simply send a copy to six other horse owners who are dissatisfied with the way that their horse is behaving. Also, bundle up your horse and send him/her to the horse owner at the top of list, and add your name to the bottom of the list. Do not use a return address or the post office may try to contact you.
In one week you should receive 16,436 horses, and at least one of them should be a keeper.
Have faith in this. Do not break the chain. One owner broke the chain and got his own horse back.

Here's your Saturday vote from Fancy & Trigger ♥
Fancy is in the stall, while Trigger wanders around peacefully. It was warm this morning but it cooled down quickly with a few drops of rain. Knowing Spring is certain to be here in a few days, I have felt excitement for upcoming horsey events. I hope Fancy’s booboo heals up soon. I know she is ready to get out of that stall and kick her heels up! I am ready to see her kick her heels up too!

Hi guys! Here is a vote during the first time I have really sat still in days. I am so proud of my son. He shared some private videos and images from his job. His job is very important in protecting our military members during incoming attacks and those attacks happen much more often than we would ever imagine.
I was hoping to get some pics of him and Cowboy with the horses, but our ground was too saturated and the weather was cold. Now it is very windy and the ground is still saturated.
We shared many family activities! But during this visit, I could actually stay on my feet during the skating! Cowboy received more gifts than during all his Christmases put together. And Cowboy was the top of his game when his big brother came to eat school lunch with him!
Thanks for still visiting our pages this week, & thanks for watching our video. I plan to load our next ground driving video next week, and it will be a bit more interesting! I have still voted contest each day and watch your videos too! You know I can't stay away from HC totally! I just did not have the time for all of my usual activities.
I almost forgot, my son saw our Veterans Day page, He loves it! He enjoyed all of your photos showing support for the military. Thanks guys! I hope you feel free to share that page with your military family member too!

Royal Mes and Sterl May realized my state before I did. It was after 5pm last night when I realized it was Thursday not Monday yesterday. I thought that was funny.
I am sorry to say I am not feeling better today. I don't know what happened. My job is based on me talking, I tried to work this morning and the more I talk, the less voice I had along with the congestion and headache. I had to reschedule my job for Saturday if my voice will work. I also had to cancel out on horse club activities this Saturday! That is the worst part. But I look forward to fun with the horseclub when it gets warmer. I have been in bed most of today. I am sitting up now. My eyes are watering and I still have the congestion. I will be on meds when I finish my blogs this evening. There is a chance I will not be online much this weekend. I have to fight this horrible cold off. I hardly ever have this much trouble fighting a cold. You have a beautiful weekend and stay Healthy!!!!!!

A big hello and a vote for Pebbles! I'm dropping by with a vote from snowy Northern Illinois. Last day of January...that means spring is getting closer (I say hopefully LOL!)
I hope you are getting more saddle time than I am right now. The weather has been nuts around here. It's either 6 degrees out and icy, or it's 55 degrees but it's pouring rain. Right now, it's 8 degrees and snowing. I would kill for an indoor arena hahaha!
I'm going to just brush and groom Luna today and work on her trick training some more.

A few months ago I began a part time job. Well, that is more like full time now. As you have noticed my irregularity on HC, I am pressed for time and energy. Lately, I have fallen asleep at the computer and I don't know how I have not fallen out of this chair. LOL! When I am mentally and physically able, I will leave a vote for each of your profile pages. There may be several times that I will only vote for one page. If you have a preference as to which page I leave the main vote on, please let me know and I will try to do that for you.

Into the new year with a vote ♥
COWBOY & TRIGGER, the Young Prince & King of January: I called Cowboy into the room and told him to read the computer screen. He read it and he said smiled. I asked him if he knew what it meant. He said Trigger won HOTD. I told him no, read it again. He asked me what is HOTM. I explained to him that means Horse Of the Month. He was very excited as he told me in his own 11 year old words that HOTM was a great surprise in addition to his birthday being Monday! Trigger was his usual calm ole self, just mellow and go lucky, and trying to get along with miss Bossy Pants, Fancy. Cowboy and Trigger send thanks for voting them Jan HOTM. Good Morning! How has your week been? I am back on normal schedule until New Years. Along with cold temps, much needed rains have finally returned to North Carolina. Cowboy's very first band performance was a success. I have sat through previous first band performances of my other children, where they struggled through several Christmas pieces. Little Cowboy's group only played two pieces that they actually played correctly. It was wonderful. Either they have a great instructor or they have extra talent. I think it is both. LOL.

Last night Cowboy informed me that Thursday is National Day of the Horse and he kindly requested a special photo edit. I have been so busy I did not realize that. I am glad to see he takes an interest in celebrating the joy of horses and I thank my small Cowboy for keeping me up to date ♥

Little Cowboy Class/ Word of the day: Barn Sour - An affliction common to horse people in northern climates during the winter months. Trudging through deep snow, pushing wheelbarrows through snow and beating out frozen water buckets tend to bring on this condition rapidly.
COWBOY & TRIGGER: A TALE OF TWO:
Before I joined HC, every Arabian I ever saw was high strung and wild! I was very surprised to see Arabians that were sensible enough to allow a child to ride. Trigger is an 18 year old Arabian that only has sight in one eye. Trigger is quite the surprise to me. His sweet quiet nature is a pleasant surprise indeed. Trigger is calm when Cowboy is highstrung. I guess that is why they work so well together :)
Well we had a great time last night at our horse club end of year banquet! Little Cowboy won first place in the youth trail riding awards program and I won 2nd place in the adult trail riding program!

March 2011 be brought Trigger to our house for the weekend. Little Cowboy enjoyed having Trigger home, so we never took Trigger back to the farm to live. During the winter months, Cowboy took care of Trigger while Trigger learned that Cowboy was his boy, and Cowboy began learning to ride Trigger. (you know, the way he likes to be handled and not handled. We are still working on that one.) Things were looking GOOD for Cowboy and Trigger!

Q: Why did the elf push his bed into the fireplace?
A: He wanted to sleep like a log.
I guess every one already knows how Trigger came about living with us. He was given to my youngest brother, whom gave him to little Cowboy. When we got Trigger, he was in poor condition, worms, rainrot, no hair above his hooves because the mudd had pulled it all off & the worst case of thrush I have ever seen. We would visit him after school and work on improving his condition. At first he would run from us, eventually he began to accept my little Cowboy and not run from him. It was 1 month later, we brought him to our house for a few daily baths and treatments. He began to look and feel better. Trigger has a sweet horseinality, but he does not act like he has enjoyed many days just being loved on.

Fancy and I did have a short ride Saturday with Cowboy and Trigger. Then I walked Bandit, my puppy, while Cowboy rode Trigger. We went around the block and to the park. A man working at the store ran out to get a picture of Cowboy riding Trigger at his store. He asked them to stand in front of his car that was parked in front of his store. And wouldn't you know, Trigger had to poop right in front of the entrance to the store! Embarrassing!!!!! Trigger always poops at the most in-opportune moments. Trigger, now known as Sir Poops A Lot!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are having a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving. I hope you're enjoying lots of good food with your family and friends. We have much for which to be thankful. And we just ate our BIG meal and are stuffed!
I am lucky to have such great friends as you who love me even though I'm so bad about getting online and writing. I miss you and just wish I had more time to write. Sigh! Such is life…
I treasure your friendship and even though I'm not always around I think of you often. Thank you for being there for me!
I'm also very grateful to have another horse living with us now. Eddie's been here for 2 months now but he's so settled in it seems like we've had him forever. He and Pippin are great friends but with their size difference and their perky personalities I don't trust them to be alone together. So, Eddie has a smaller fenced in section of Pippin's big day pen and they spend lots of time right against each other with the fence in between. And yes, Pippin is boss!
We walk them together with the dogs and they drive their own carts. Eddie takes 2 steps while Pippin takes 20. They are adorable! And we keep stopping traffic! hehe

I feed Trigger in the stall now so Fancy will not take his grain. As Trigger eats in peace Fancy gives him the mean look. After I let him out, Fancy checks for anything he has left behind, then she chases him for eating it all up. Silly mare.

I hope you gals and guys are saddling up Saturday and/or Sunday in support of our Veterans. People who give or gave their lives for others each day they served, when they really did not have to do so. Wow, what amazing people they are.
My granddad was in WWII and my oldest son has served in the Afghanistan wars, working on communications devices. I have one cousin serving in the navy, that was injured during the attack against the United States Navy destroyer USS Cole on October 12, 2000.
We all are affected by the military in some way.

No riding Thursday. It was a rainy afternoon. I did get to enjoy watching Austin chase Sadie as she chased Scruffy with him barking for Sadie to keep chasing him. Sadie had that tail up in the air. So funny. Even though I miss Star calling out to me, I've found peace with her passing. She's no longer sick and in pain. Love to you all. Voted.
